The Center was officially established in June 1994 at Osaka University as an intramural joint-use facility for the fundamental research on the safe control of hazardous chemical substances and the preservation of the environment.
Guidance, advice and planning for the safe control and environmental preservation to members at Osaka University are also included in the roles of the Center.
In addition, the Center manages organic and inorganic liquid wastes discharged from activities such as research and education at the university.
